Things I Hate...

...my kids being sick. On Tuesday Chase work up at 4:30 a.m. with a fever but fell right back to sleep. I didn't think much of it because he had been teething last week (he has two new teeth on top). He then woke up at 8:30 with a fever still and was so grumpy. He didn't want to eat anything and I got him a bottle and just held him and played with him on the floor. By the afternoon he was bored and I couldn't entertain him much longer so we ran some errands and picked up Kelsie from school. When we got home his fever was so high and wasn't feeling well at all. He just wasn't himself. He didn't even smile or move when we got Kelsie from school, he just sat in his car seat with tears running down his cheek. I called the doctor and brought him in immediately. They checked him out and his temperature was 102. They checked his ears and they were ok, tested him for strep, which was negative and listened to his breathing. He had been having short heavy labored breathing all day. They couldn't say if he had RSV for sure because you have to be tested at the hospital for that and he wasn't wheezing yet. But he was prescribed some antibiotics as if he did have it, and placed him on a nebulizer to help with whatever was infecting his lungs. I brought Chase back home and went to pick up his prescriptions. When I got back John had called our home teacher to help give Chase a blessing. His fever didn't break until the next morning and we've had a couple of long nights. We give Chase his treatment every 6 hours and his breathing is starting to sound a little better. He still will not eat and wants to be held constantly but I don't mind, how can you resist holding this precious little guy.

My New Little Helper

Chase is constantly getting into everything, I mean EVERYTHING! I can't leave him alone for a second without him opening cupboards or climbing onto everything. He is now crawling onto the fireplace ledge and standing on top of it, as well as anything else he can find like the heater, the stool, everything. Every time I open the dishwasher he climbs onto the door and will stand on it to reach the dishes in the top drawer, either that or he goes for the silverware, or should I say just the knifes.

#2 Making his move
#3 Busted!

Birthday Pictures

I know I'm a little late but I wanted to post pictures of Kelsie's birthday party. Aly came over the night before her birthday and decorated Kelsie's room with streamers and balloons, it was so cute, in fact Kelsie kept everything up and 2 weeks later it is starting to fall. She also brought her some flowers. Kelsie was surprised and loved it.
We got Kelsie a bike for her birthday. She has totally outgrown her old one, you know knees hitting the handlebars and all. She loves it and wants to go ride it all the time. I went to Wal-Mart the night before to get it so we could keep it a surprise and found this one on clearance. She also got a bathrobe from grandma and grandpa that she LOVES, a game, necklace, and a few other things.
We let Kelsie decide what she wanted to eat and what she wanted to do. She chose potato soup, strawberry cake and miniature golfing. She had been scooping out cakes online and I let her know I could never make one like the ones she saw but oh, this cake turned out to be so good.
We let her bring a friend golfing, she brought Soni and they had a lot of fun. We went indoor golfing at Trafalga. The had redone the course and it is all black-light and has an under the sea theme.
Chase just hanging out.

Happy Birthday Kelsie

Today my little girl turned 11 years old! I can't believe how time has flown by. It has been a wonderful 11 years. Kelsie is such a sweet little girl and I am so proud of her. She is smart, funny and always is there to cheer you up. Happy 11th birthday Kelsie I hope will be another great year for you.

Kelsie is the 'star student' this week in school. This is the poster that I made for her classroom. It spotlights a few of her favorites, made with her favorite colors. Oh, and you can see how grown up Kelsie is becoming, this shows her current school picture. (I think we are going to have our hands full with this one in the next few years.)

I'll post pictures of Kelsie's birthday party soon!
